Ninety-seven case studies make it to second round of judging at Effie 2011

The first round of judging for Effie 2011 is over and 97 case studies have been shortlisted for the final round. The final round of judging will happen on 7 December, 2011 in Mumbai at Mayfair Rooms.

Commenting on the case studies shortlisted for the awards this year, Ajay Kakar, chairperson, Effie 2011 Committee, said, "Around 300 entries were received by the agencies this year, which is the highest number of entries received so far. The number of shortlists and the agency representation within that, has also been the highest so far."

In the category ‘Consumer Products – Cosmetics and Toiletries’, Ogilvy & Mather has two shortlists while BBDO India, BBH Communications and Lowe Lintas have one each. In the sub-category ‘Beverages/Drink, Confectionary and Food’, Ogilvy & Mather has three shortlists, while Contract Advertising has two. JWT, Interface Communications, McCann Worldgroup and Taproot India have one each. In the sub-category ‘Others’, Lowe Lintas has three shortlists, while Ogilvy & Mather, JWT and Leo Burnett managed one each.

In the category ‘Consumer Durables- Automobiles and Auto Parts, Two Wheelers and Auto Related’, Draftfcb + Ulka and Ogilvy & Mather have two shortlists each, while JWT, Creativeland Asia, McCann Worldgroup, Lowe Lintas and DDB Mudra Group have one each. In the ‘Electronic Goods’ sub-category, DDB Mudra Group has two shortlists, while Orchard Advertising and Ogilvy & Mather have one shortlist each. The ‘Others’ sub-category has three shortlists with Ogilvy & Mather, Lowe Lintas and JWT getting one each.

‘Services – Telecom and related products’ has six shortlists, with Ogilvy & Mather leading the tally with three shortlists, followed by Lowe Lintas with two and one shortlist for Draftfcb + Ulka. The ‘Financial Services’ sub-category is once again led by Ogilvy & Mather with three shortlists, with Grey India, Leo Burnett, TBWA \ Anthem, Publicis Ambience and JWT having one shortlist each. In the ‘Others’ sub-category, Ogilvy & Mather has two shortlists while Leo Burnett, TBWA \ Anthem and DDB Mudra Group has one shortlist each.

In the ‘Corporate Advertising – Corporate Reputation’ category, McCann Worldgroup and DDB Mudra Group have one shortlist each. In the ‘Social Cause’ sub-category, DDB Mudra Group has two shortlists while BBDO Proximity India and McCann Worldgroup have one each.

In the category ‘Digital Advertising (Online / Mobile Communication)’, DDB Mudra Group has two shortlists, Sapient Corporation, Creativeland Asia, Bates India, McCann Worldgroup and Lowe Lintas have one shortlist each.

Leo Burnett has two shortlists in the ‘Retail Advertising’ category, while Ogilvy & Mather and Lowe Lintas have one each in the same category. DDB Mudra Group got the only shortlist in the ‘Healthcare’ category, while Ogilvy & Mather got the only shortlist in the ‘B2B Advertising’ category.

In the ‘Rural Advertising’ category, DDB Mudra Group and Ogilvy & Mather have two shortlists each. Ogilvy & Mather have two shortlists in the ‘Regional Advertising’ category, while BBDO India, BBH Communications and McCann Worldgroup got one shortlist each.

In the ‘David vs Goliath’ category, DDB Mudra Group has two shortlists while Contract Advertising, Interface Communications and BBH Communications have one each. In the ‘Integrated Advertising Campaign’ category, Ogilvy & Mather has three shortlists, while McCann Worldgroup has two. Contract Advertising, DDB Mudra Group and Taproot India have one shortlist each in the same category.
