Sriram Sharma to head Starcom, Bangalore
Starcom MediaVest Group has named Sriram Sharma (pictured) as general manager for their Bangalore office. He takes over the post after the departure of Ashwini Kamat, who is relocating to Mumbai for personal reasons.
Starcom promotes Sandeep Lakhina as COO-South Asia
Starcom Worldwide has appointed Sandeep Lakhina for the newly created position of COO-South Asia. Lakhina (pictured) is currently MD, India-West and South, Starcom Worldwide. He will assume his new responsibility from April 1, 2009 and will continue reporting to Ravi Kiran, CEO-South Asia for Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG).
Starcom, The Key collaborate on study on impact of economic downturn
Starcom and The Key, a qualitative research company, jointly undertook a study on the effect of the economic downturn. Some of the important findings of the study include the fact that SEC A and B behave completely differently towards the downturn. While only 30% of SEC B households say they have been affected, 70% of SEC A say they have felt affected. Also, the categories that affect the SEC A and SEC B are different.
Starcom unveils IntenTrack to predict purchase behaviour
Starcom MediaVest Group has launched a new research product-IntenTrack. This is a continuous weekly track which identifies consumer intent actions that drive brand sales. 19 months were spent on the survey to track consumers' response. It covered 28 countries, 30 categories, 200 brands and 1 million consumers.
Starcom appoints Ashwini Kamat as head of the Bengaluru office
Starcom has appointed Ashwini Kamat as head of the Bengaluru office. Before this, Kamat was responsible for training and new business development for Starcom nationally. Kamat comes in place of Sindhuja Rai, general manager, who has recently quit. Ashwini Kamat joined Starcom in 2002 and has handled clients like VVF, Heinz, Western Union, HDFC, Fiat in the past in the Starcom Mumbai office. She moved to Bengaluru in 2007.
