Viriyala is VP, programming, STAR World, Movies

STAR has announced a few key changes in its programming and content management.Jyotsna Viriyala has been named vice president, programming for STAR World India and STAR Movies India.  Also, Bonny Yu has been named vice president of programming, Xing Xong, STAR’s flagship Mandarin GEC for Mainland China.  Jennifer Batty has been appointed vice president, programming, STAR World.

STAR has announced a few key changes in its programming and content management.

Jyotsna Viriyala has been named vice president, programming for STAR World India and STAR Movies India.  Also, Bonny Yu has been named vice president of programming, Xing Xong, STAR’s flagship Mandarin GEC for Mainland China.  Jennifer Batty has been appointed vice president, programming, STAR World.

Viriyala joined STAR from Media Content and Communication Services where she was assistant VP, overseeing research, business strategies, operations and on-air promotions.  Prior to MCCS, Viriyala was marketing and brand manager at ICICI’s travel venture, Traveljini.com.  Before that, she held media planning and buying positions at JWT and Fulcrum respectively.

The three new programming VPs will be spearheading scheduling, acquisition, and content strategies for their respective channels.  While Viriyala is based in Mumbai, Yu and Batty are based in Hong Kong.  Viriyala will be reporting to Batty and Brian Lau, VP, programming for STAR Movies.
