Ogilvy & Mather has conceptualised Vodafone's newest ad campaign for Vodafone's new bonus card offer which is priced at Rs 4. It features an animated parrot, and has been voiced by Bollywood actor Boman Irani.

The film opens with a parrot laughing and then talking about how nothing is available for four rupees in this day and age. He compares it to how plastic for peppermint is not available for such a miniscule amount, and goes on to say that for that price, he will not even let anyone smell his mawa cake. The parrot ends by asking, "Aye bhai, kya mein tereko ulloo dikhta hai? [Do I look like a fool (owl)?]"  to which the voiceover says, "Trust us that Vodafone provides calls and messages at that price."

Commenting on the new TVC, Anuradha Aggarwal, vice president of marketing communications and consumer insights at Vodafone, said, "The animated parrot is shown as one of those old Irani restaraunt owners. That's the reason why we have also used Boman Irani's voice for the voiceover of the TVC. With the parrot, we hope to make that association just as we made one with the dog."

On the new bonus card launch, Aggarwal added, "Normally people with high usage are targetted with our communication, but with the new Rs 4 bonus card offer, we have looked to target the users with lesser usage and have targetted SEC B and C."

Speaking on the launch, Kumar Ramanathan, chief marketing officer, Vodafone Essar, said, “We are delighted to launch the most economical bonus offer available in the market. This marks the democratization of bonus cards, empowering more and more customers to exercise choices at a highly affordable price point of Rs 4. We hope to communicate the product offering effectively and with absolute simplicity through our brand new advertising campaign.”
