Cheil India restructures as Cheil SWA Group

The network combines creative, digital, retail, and technology capabilities to deliver integrated marketing solutions.

Cheil India has restructured its business and named its as Cheil SWA Group. Led by Carlos LimSeob Chung as its president and CEO, the Cheil SWA Group will offer integrated advertising and marketing solutions across industries by combining creative, media and data capabilities.

Operating through seven specialised companies working in collaboration, the group offers services including creative and integrated marketing, digital transformation and e-commerce, data-driven performance marketing, content production, retail design, in-store excellence, influencer engagement, social media amplification, technology development and implementation.

Following this corporate restructuring, the name, Cheil India has been retained, however, exclusively for its Samsung business and the agency's new business (non-Samsung) has been brought under Cheil X. Both the business units will be part of Cheil SWA Group. Jitender Dabas has been appointed as the CEO of Cheil X. He will also lead the agencies that form the Cheil SWA Group. Mandeep Sharma has been appointed chief operating officer of Cheil India. He will spearhead the business transformation with an emphasis on CRM and customer experience.

Established in India in 2003, Cheil started out as the dedicated agency for Samsung. It continues to work on the account while providing the brand with integrated marketing solutions across creative, digital, strategy, retail and brand experiences.

Some of the business arms of the group working in India include CYLDR, GDC, NewsRx, etc. CYLNDR is a content production hub by Cheil that specialises in VFX, CGI, and production services including editing and studio facilities. Cheil’s digital media and influencer business division employs more than 300 professionals who offer integrated performance marketing, influencer campaigns, and D2C e-commerce solutions.

NewRx is Cheil’s retail design and branding services arm that specialises in store design, in-store communication, product displays, and retail production. Cheil global data centre (GDC) is involved in developing technology-powered, data-led marketing strategies and enabling their execution through automated platforms and performance tracking.
