Lomotif brings in Tarun Katial, Ken Cheung as senior advisors

Katial, who recently founded Serendipity Media Technology, is the former CEO of Zee5 while Cheung was the former founding head of Asia Pacific for Facebook and Instagram Partnerships

Short-format video-sharing social networking platform, Lomotif, has brought in Tarun Katial, founder, Serendipity Media Technology (former CEO of Zee5), and Ken Cheung, former founding head of Asia Pacific, Facebook and Instagram Partnerships, as senior advisors. The duo will advise the company’s senior team on growth and expansion internationally with a focus on enhancing user-centricity, growth and worldwide adoption.
 
Paul Yang, founder and chief executive, Lomotif, said, “We are delighted to have two such industry leaders and thinkers on board with us. Katial has over two decades of leadership experience in the Indian media industry, having worked held leadership positions in organisations such as Star, Sony Pictures, and Big FM, among others.

The short format social video platforms have witnessed enormous popularity in the last few years, and I am looking forward to helping the platform become a true community video platform in the largest internet communities like India, Brazil, Russia, etc.”
 
Cheung, too, has over 20 years of experience in several entrepreneurial and leadership roles across tech, media and entertainment. Apart from Facebook, he has also worked at Tencent, BBC Studios, and Warner Music Group.
