Dentsu Aegis Network launches Amnet in India
Dentsu Aegis Network has announced the launch of Amnet, its digital trading desk, in India. 
 
Besides using demand-side platform (DSP) technology to buy targeted audience-specific digital media across display, mobile and video, Amnet is meant to provide real time insights to help understand the consumers’ online behaviour. 
 
Ashish Bhasin, chairman and CEO South Asia, Dentsu Aegis Network, said, “This is a very exciting investment that we are making for the benefit of our clients. For the first time in India, Dentsu Aegis Network clients will exclusively have access to programmatic buying at this scale and with such levels of sophistication. As a leading player in digital, with market-leading agencies like iProspect, Isobar, Dentsu Webchutney and WATConsult in our group, we wanted our clients to get the best of global standards in this important area; hence, the decision to bring Amnet to India.”
 
Among other markets, Amnet has a presene in the US, UK, France, China and Hong Kong. The India team is comprised of four people at launch, but 'they will be hiring quickly', explained Bhasin. Amnet will operate from offices in Delhi and Mumbai.
 
“Today, we have over 700 digital specialists in our group in India and hope to expand to over 1,000 digital experts by next year. We strongly believe that digital, particularly video, social, mobile and performance, will play a crucial role for our clients and so the push on introducing market-leading efforts like Amnet in India,” he added.
 
Sumit Aggarwal will head Amnet in India as the country head based in Mumbai, reporting to Bhasin. Aggarwal was earlier VP -- monetisation, multi screen advertising platform, Reliance Jio. Prior to that led the search, display ad sales and ad product teams at Yahoo! India. He took charge of Amnet on 11 May.
 
Additionally, DAN staffer Salil Shanker will handle the operational aspects of Amnet India as business head and will be based at Dentsu Aegis Network’s Gurgaon office.
