GEC Ratings: Star Plus continues to lead; top four channels lose GRPs

Though all the top four Hindi GECs lost points over the first week of 2012, Star Plus continues to lead the genre with 311 GRPs, a drop of 14 points from last week’s 325. The fight for second place continues between Sony and Colors, with the former winning the battle for the TAM ratings released for Week 1 ’12.  Sony ended the week with 236 GRPs, registering a marginal drop of four points over previous week’s 240. Meanwhile, Colors lost 43 points over last week’s GRPs to register 213 GRPs and settle for third spot.  Zee TV’s score dipped by 10 points to register 184 GRPs.

SAB was the only gainer among the top five Hindi GECs, registering a gain of 11 points from 113 to 124 GRPs. Life OK (formerly Star One) had  a good run this week registering a growth of 24 points to register 98 GRPs as compared to last week’s 74. Imagine TV registered 64 GRPs (last week: 72), Sahara One registered 42 GRPs (last week: 35), Star Utsav registered 38 GRPs (last week: 29), DD1 stayed put at 13 GRPs and Zee Smile registered 6 GRPs (last week: 4).
