Karishma Initiative, Lintas Group’s third media service agency, has appointed Amita Karwal (pictured) to head the agency’s office in Delhi. The agency has already been mandated to handle Rs 500 crores worth of business, which includes the UAE based Etisalat DB account and has said it is looking to sign on business on a similar scale within the next two quarters at Delhi and Mumbai.

“We are already in dialogue with some large businesses in both cities and confident of achieving this milestone”, says NP Sathyamurthy, president and COO, Lintas Media Group Mumbai, who will take charge of the new agency as its CEO. “I am looking forward to growing Karishma Initiative and bringing in talent to drive the company’s robustness. Amita’s inputs and experience will certainly prove to be of significance to the business”.

Said Lynn de Souza, chairman and CEO, Lintas Media Group, “Karishma Initiative has been launched primarily to expand our offering to clients who work with a global template. The new agency has the added advantage of being able to offer more flexibility to newer advertisers."

Amita Karwal joins the agency as executive VP. Her previous stints include Initiative Media, Ogilvy, Zenith Optimedia, Spatial Access and R3. “I am looking forward to being back in the buzz and excitement of a new media agency on the prowl, and I believe the combination of our worldwide network and tools, and indigenous relationships will help us bring in early success”, said Karwal.
