Adille Sumariwalla bids adieu to Clear Channel

Adille Sumariwalla, chairman and managing director, Clear Channel (Mudra JV) has decided to move on after eight years at the OOH agency.

Sumariwalla has confirmed his move to Campaign India. Asked where he is headed next, Sumariwalla said, “I have a few options at the moment. All I can say is right now that my next assignment will be beyond outdoor -  where outdoor will be a small part of the overall business.”

At Clear Channel, Sumariwalla has worked with brands such as Standard Chartered Bank, L&T Limited, Tata Motors, Tata Ventures, Tata Housing, Yahoo India, Volkswagen, Godrej security solutions, Big Bazar, ICICI Prudential, InOrbit Mall, and Honda 2 wheelers.

Prior to joining Clear Channel, he was group director, corporate and outdoor, Mid-day Multimedia. At Mid-day, he spearheaded new initiatives of the company in radio, internet, print domains. He was then entrusted with the task of setting up the outdoor division in 1997, which then merged its operations with Clear Channel India in 2004. Presently, he is a board member of  Next Media Works (formerly Mid-day Multimedia Ltd.) and SE TransStadia Ltd.

Sumariwalla started his professional career with Tata Engineering and Locomotive Co. (now Tata Motors) where he worked for 15 years in various capacities, after which he was appointed the founding CEO of the The Asian Age daily in 1994.
