Flipkart says thanks with digital campaign

Watch the films conceptualised by Webchutney here

Flipkart has launched a digital campaign, #FlipkartThanksYou, to highlight ‘special relationships and experiences’ that have shaped people’s choices, informed a statement. The campaign was released online on 23 February and has been conceptualised by Webchutney.

The four film campaign features the roles that fathers, mothers, siblings, uncles have played in gifting/buying things.

The film titled ‘fathers’ illustrates how fathers have learnt to value things and in turn value relations. It goes to show dads being generous while gifting and on the other hand, bargaining hard when making a purchase. But at the end, they always manage to procure the object their loved ones wish to buy. The film ends with a voiceover and super reading ‘The best value for your valuable wishes’.

The next film titled ‘abroadwale uncle’ is along the same lines as the above ad except it features foreign-return relatives instead of fathers.  The ad looks at how gifts brought by relatives helps one become even more popular with your friends and family. The film ends with a voiceover and super reading ‘The latest and international collection for all your wishes’.

The next film title ‘sibling’ looks at the relationship with one’s brother or sister and everything learnt from them – from introduction to pop music to CDs to what’s cool. The film ends with a voiceover and super reading ‘The latest trends for all your wishes’.

Similar in nature to the first film, this one is about mothers who know exactly what everyone wants from the right shade of pink to the cricket bat to turning every dinner into a buffet, mothers never arrive empty handed. The film ends with a voiceover and super reading ‘The widest range for all your wishes’.

Shoumyan Biswas, senior director - marketing – Flipkart, said, "While growing up, each one of us, have learnt some of our "life's valuable lessons" from our closest relationships. These relations, like the ones we share with our fathers, mothers or an elder sister have come to define who we are and what choices we learn to make in life. To celebrate 'the Flipkart Brand', we thought of coming up with a campaign that pays a tribute and a heartfelt thank you to all such relations. Right from thanking ‘fathers’ for teaching us the value for money, to acknowledging the ‘Abroadwale Uncle’ for introducing us to the world of the latest and international brands to all the mothers for going to any length in order to find us exactly what we wanted, this campaign, in a warm endearing manner covers all such relations and blends them perfectly into the various aspects of our business that make Flipkart the great brand that it is today."
