Diageo has announced the appointment of Abanti Sankaranarayanan as the new marketing director of Diageo India. She was previously executive director and deputy chief executive officer at Mount Everest Mineral Water (A Tata Enterprise), where she was responsible for crafting the Tata Group’s entry into Water with Himalayan.
In her new role, Sankaranarayanan will be responsible for building brands like Johnnie Walker, Smirnoff, VAT 69 and Ciroc. Roland Abella, managing director, Diageo India, said, “India is a key market for Diageo, with great potential for growth. Diageo endeavors to ensure that its outstanding collection of brands are made accessible to the Indian consumer. We believe that Abanti, with her diverse experience across premium lifestyle brands, will be the right person to lead Diageo's marketing effort.”
