Ministry of Rural Development empanels advertising agencies

The Ministry of Rural Development (Government of India) has announced the empanelment of advertising agencies for multimedia creative works.

According to sources close to the process, the Ministry has appointed 17 advertising firms across India to support its regional work and activities.

Campaign India has learned from these sources that Span Communications, The Crayons Network, and Square Communications are among the winning agencies selected for the Ministry's roster, amongst others.

Recently, the Rural Development Ministry has been focusing on the 'Lakhpati Didi' program, which was launched as a government scheme in August 2023. This initiative aims to provide skill training to two crore women across the country, catalysing economic empowerment and financial independence among women in rural areas.

The program received financial support in this year’s budget, with an allocation of INR 184,566 crore to the Department of Rural Development for the fiscal year 2024-25.

Led by Minister Giriraj Singh, the Ministry of Rural Development is the central agency for most development and welfare activities in rural areas and plays a pivotal role in the country's overall development strategy. The Ministry's vision is to achieve sustainable and inclusive growth of rural India through a multipronged strategy aimed at eradicating poverty by increasing livelihood opportunities, providing a social safety net, and developing infrastructure for growth.
