‘Lokmat Samachar’ revamps itself

Lokmat Media has rolled out a new look for its Hindi daily, Lokmat Samachar. The revamp was unveiled on 15 August, 2011 in five cities across Maharashtra - Nagpur, Kolhapur, Aurangabad, Akola and Jalgaon. 

The new identity of Lokmat Samachar sees a change in design and content that looks to make it easily navigable with a new layout.  The weekday paper will be different in style and content from the Sunday newspaper. Lokmat Media Limited released a strategic campaign focused on ‘Utsah, Urja and Umang’ to communicate the Brand New avatar to its consumers. 

Speaking of this change Jwalant Swaroop, chief operating officer, Lokmat Media, said, “Our redesign is in line with today’s Hindi speaking audience, which is affluent, enterprising and aspirational with a constant thrive to keep themselves updated with their surroundings. The contemporary and elegant design is easily navigable. Lokmat Samachar has been our pride and joy and has been rolling the roost since the past 23 years."

Mateen Khan, product head, Lokmat Samachar, said, “The Hindi readers market in Maharashtra consists of early adaptors and is upbeat and financially sound. With this in view, we felt that there is a strong need to change especially after 23 years, it was time to get in sync with the current perspective. It is our constant endeavor to re-engineering our product basis the needs and requirements of our consumers.”
