Grey India hires Shalini Dam as NCD

Grey India has appointed Shalini Dam as the national creative director of the agency, a post left vacant by Priti Nair recently.

Dam returns to India after a brief stint with Grey Worldwide Malaysia where she stationed as executive creative director, South East Asia. "The mandate given in Grey Malaysia was to raise the bar for the creative output," said Dam. "And in doing so, I had the pleasure of closely working with a very professional, very tight team there."

Besides consolidating and growing the agency's existing businesses by delivering compelling creatives, Dam has also been tasked to explore ways in which Grey's clients can go beyond the traditional media. "The clichéd 360 pales in front of the way we practice integration," said Dam. "We will continue to do so with more rigour and enthusiasm, with our very committed approach to integration."

Dam will begin working with a client base that includes Britannia, Audi, Indian Oil, Suzlon, Bharati AXA, BSNL, etc. and will report directly to Nirvik Singh, President South East Asia, Grey Group. Said Singh, "I'm delighted that Shalini has come back to India after a very successful tenure in South East Asia. I'm sure under her leadership we will be able to attract new talent, accelerate our clients businesses and push the creative bar even higher".

Dam comes with a graduation degree in Economics, from Delhi University and a post graduation from the Times School of Marketing and Management. Prior to Grey, Dam has worked with agencies like Contract, TBWA and Leo Burnett where she has been involved with brands like Coke, Thumbs up, Limca, Airtel, NIIT, Maruti.

At Grey India she has been responsible for successful campaigns such as 'Hungry Kya' for Domino's and "Tumse Hai Zindagi" for re-launch of Samsung durables.
