Nespresso, known for its premium coffee range, is set to make its debut in India by the end of 2024.

This expansion by Nestlé India is part of an effort to enhance its presence in the booming coffee market in the region. Nespresso will offer both its original and professional systems to cater to domestic and commercial consumers alike.

The introduction of Nespresso in India will begin with the opening of its first boutique in Delhi, with plans to expand to other major cities subsequently. In addition to physical stores, Nespresso products will be available online through various e-commerce platforms.

Suresh Narayanan, chairman and managing director of Nestlé India, expressed enthusiasm about the launch, noting the growing trend of in-home coffee consumption in India. "Coffee consumption in India has witnessed a surge, supported by a young population and increasing exposure to global trends," said Narayanan. He emphasised that Nespresso would offer new experiences and exceptional coffees to both enthusiasts and connoisseurs in India.

Guillaume Le Cunff, CEO of Nestlé Nespresso S.A., also commented on the expansion. "For almost 40 years, Nespresso has committed to elevating the coffee experience with our signature taste and a focus on sustainability," Le Cunff stated. He highlighted the longstanding relationship with Indian coffee farmers since 2011, underscoring the growth potential in the Indian market.

Nespresso's AAA Sustainable Quality Program, which was developed in collaboration with the Rainforest Alliance in 2003 supports over 150,000 coffee farmers across 18 countries, helping to enhance their coffee quality, farm productivity, and sustainability. In India, Nespresso works directly with around 2,000 coffee farmers, contributing to improved livelihoods through sustainable practices.

With headquarters in Lausanne, Switzerland, Nespresso operates a global network of over 800 boutiques in roughly 500 cities.
