McCann rejigs agency structure; hires Loveleen Raina, Rahul Mathew

Loveleen Raina, who currently heads the Unitech Wireless business for Leo Burnett Delhi has put in her papers. She will join McCann Erickson, Mumbai as vice-president and GM in February.

Her appointment comes at a time when McCann Erickson (Mumbai) restructures itself into two units – currently called McCann Erickson One and McCann Erickson Two. Both will have separate P&Ls, account profiles, resources and business development initiatives.

Raina will be heading one of the units, while Parvati Nair will be heading the other. Rahul Mathew, currently creative head at Rediffusion Y&R (Mumbai) has been roped in to head one of the units alongwith Akshay Kapnadak, currently creative director, McCann Erickson. More clarity on the new structure is being worked out by the McCann leadership team. More than a decade back, a similar two-unit structure had been adopted by McCann Erickson Delhi.

Speaking to Campaign India, Loveleen said, "I’m really excited about moving to Mumbai. I’ve spent 15 years in Delhi, where I worked with practically all kinds of clients across several categories. The new assignment under McCann's new model is one I'm absolutely looking forward to."

Loveleen is currently serving her notice period at Leo Burnett and will be joining McCann's Mumbai office on 15 February. Prior to Leo Burnett, she was regional business director on Motorola at O&M, responsible for South Asia. She has previously worked in McCann’s Delhi office joining as senior account executive in 1998, exiting in 2004 as brand leader.

Rahul Mathew meanwhile has previously worked at Y&R Kuala Lumpur, JWT, Leo Burnett, Enterprise Nexus and Ogilvy Healthcare. This is his second innings at McCann Erickson.
