Zendesk has appointed Tifenn Dano Kwan as chief marketing officer, strengthening its executive leadership team as the company accelerates its focus on AI-powered customer service solutions and global business growth.
In her new role, Dano Kwan will lead Zendesk’s global marketing organisation, with responsibility for market differentiation, brand positioning and pipeline generation. The appointment aligns with the company’s efforts to expand its presence in the emerging autonomous service workforce category, where artificial intelligence, automation and human expertise are increasingly integrated to deliver customer service outcomes.
Dano Kwan joins Zendesk from Amplitude, where she served as chief marketing officer and played a central role in the company’s transition towards an AI-native analytics platform. During her tenure, she led marketing initiatives that contributed to a 52% year-on-year increase in website traffic and helped build a global marketing operation responsible for more than one-third of marketing-sourced pipeline.
Her experience also includes senior marketing leadership roles at SAP, where she served as chief marketing officer for SAP Ariba and SAP Fieldglass. She has additionally held leadership positions at Collibra and Dropbox, bringing extensive expertise in enterprise technology, SaaS marketing, demand generation and go-to-market strategy.
For Zendesk, the appointment comes at a time of growing demand for AI-enabled customer experience solutions. The company reported that AI bookings more than doubled during fiscal year 2026 and is forecasting that figure will more than double again in fiscal year 2027, exceeding USD 400 million. The growth has been supported by customer adoption of new AI-powered offerings, including agentic messaging capabilities and AI-driven voice and email agents.
Tom Eggemeier, chief executive officer, Zendesk, said, “Tifenn is a disciplined leader who understands how to connect marketing strategy to measurable growth. As we reinvent Zendesk for the next generation of customer service, Tifenn's deep expertise in scaling pipeline, leading AI-driven marketing, and aligning GTM functions will be essential. Her ability to articulate the tangible value of our technology makes her the right person to lead our brand as we move toward an autonomous service workforce.”
Dano Kwan highlighted the opportunity presented by the growing adoption of agentic AI within customer experience.
“Agentic Service is the defining opportunity in CX right now and there's no brand better positioned to lead it than Zendesk. Years of category leadership have built a level of trust and credibility with the market that you can't manufacture overnight, and that equity is exactly what's needed to take AI from promise to proof. Our true structural moats lie in our deep industry vertical expertise, our massive knowledge and data foundation, and a platform with trust and governance engineered directly into it. I’m excited about the opportunity to further extend and amplify Zendesk’s category leadership in the AI era,” said Dano Kwan.
The appointment also reflects the growing role of marketing leaders in translating complex AI propositions into clear business narratives. As enterprise buyers increasingly seek outcome-based AI solutions, brands are investing in marketing capabilities that can demonstrate practical business value while differentiating products in a crowded technology landscape.
With leadership experience spanning Singapore, Sydney, Paris and San Francisco, Dano Kwan brings an international perspective to the role and is expected to support Zendesk’s efforts to drive global demand, strengthen brand positioning and expand awareness of its AI-powered customer service offerings.
