TBWA's Narayan Kumar puts in his papers

Narayan Kumar, executive director and head of Disruption , TBWA India has put in his papers. Narayan has worked with TBWA for the last four years, having joined the agency as executive creative director in 2004.
Confirming the move to Campaign India, Kumar said that the idea to move on had been on his mind for the last few months and given the recent stake sale and consequent restructuring that took place at the Omnicom owned agency, he had stayed back to ensure that the transition was seamless. "They seem to have a good team in place now so I decided it was time to move on," he said. Talking about his plans for the future, Kumar said, "I have a number of options open in front of me, it could be in the form of a start-up or I could even join an agency. I really don't know. At this point, I am open to the options in front of me and I am still evaluating them. By November end, I should have something concrete in place," he added.
Kumar has close to 25 years of experience in the advertising industry. He began his career in 1983 with Shilpi, a Mumbai based agency. He then moved on to Sistas. His career has included stints at agencies like Mudra, JWT, Lintas and TBWA.
Shiv Sethuraman, CEO, TBWA India said on Kumar's move, "We are looking for Narayan's replacement and are looking at a couple of options at the moment. The role was important within the agency and we are evaluating whether we have the necessary capabilities within the agency to fill up his role or if we need to hire someone new."
