MTV has introduced six new shows and four new VJs, as part of the channel's recent revamping bid. The channel has changed its look, and now has a number of on-screen innovations and international format shows lined up.
Called Heaven @ 7, the channel's new programming lineup includes new shows like 'MTV GTalk', 'Fanta MTV Fantastic 5', 'MTV Discover n Download', 'MTV Dance Crew', 'Garnier MTV Star Scraps' 'MTV Fabulous Lives' and 'MTV Loveline Reloaded'. Also, the channel aims to freshen up its look by introducing four new VJs, Anmol, Shambhavi, Jose and model Deepti Gujral.
Speaking on why the channel chose to announce its new content almost two weeks after it began airing, Ashish Patil, GM MTV India & VP Creative & Content explained, "It would have been quite insensitive on our part to announce something fun in the midst of the terror attacks. Also, we thought we could speak about it after giving it some time to settle in and watch the response."
The channel claims it has seen a 30% hike in viewership, citing recent TAM figures.
