BharatPe has launched BharatPe Flex, a credit-on-UPI solution powered by YES BANK, aimed at giving consumers greater flexibility in managing everyday payments through the Unified Payments Interface (UPI). Alongside the product launch, the company has rolled out a new brand campaign centred on the proposition, ‘Pay now. Settle later.’
The launch reflects the evolving nature of India’s digital payments ecosystem, where consumers are increasingly seeking payment solutions that combine convenience with enhanced financial flexibility. BharatPe Flex allows users to access a credit line while continuing to transact through existing UPI infrastructure, enabling a seamless payment experience across a wide range of spending categories.
Consumers can use the solution for in-store QR code payments, online purchases, utility bill payments, mobile recharges, travel bookings, shopping, fuel purchases and other routine transactions. By integrating a credit facility directly into the UPI experience, BharatPe aims to provide users with additional control over cash flow management without altering familiar payment behaviours.
From a marketing perspective, the launch is supported by a new brand film that highlights changing consumer attitudes towards digital payments. Built around the theme ‘Pay now. Settle later.’, the campaign positions BharatPe Flex as a solution for consumers who value the speed and familiarity of UPI while seeking greater flexibility in how they manage expenses.
The communication taps into a growing trend within fintech marketing, where brands are increasingly focusing on financial empowerment, convenience and lifestyle relevance rather than purely transactional benefits. By linking credit access with everyday payment behaviour, BharatPe is positioning the product as a natural extension of the digital payment habits already adopted by millions of consumers.
Nalin Negi, chief executive officer, BharatPe, said, “UPI has fundamentally transformed the way India transacts by making payments instant, interoperable, and accessible at scale. As digital payments mature, we believe the next phase of innovation will focus on providing consumers with greater flexibility and control over how they manage everyday expenses. BharatPe Flex has been built to address that emerging need by combining the familiarity of UPI with the convenience of credit in a seamless and intuitive manner.”
The campaign also reflects how fintech brands are increasingly using product launches as opportunities to build broader consumer narratives around financial flexibility and digital convenience. Rather than focusing solely on product features, the communication highlights how evolving payment solutions can fit into everyday consumer lifestyles.
With BharatPe Flex, the company is seeking to strengthen its position within the rapidly expanding digital payments market while responding to growing demand for integrated financial services. The launch further demonstrates how fintech brands are combining product innovation with consumer-focused storytelling to drive awareness, adoption and engagement in an increasingly competitive category.
