BBDO India’s Ranjeev Vij puts in his papers

Ranjeev Vij (pictured), vice president and business director, BBDO India has put in his papers. Vij, who joined the agency in July last year, was reporting to Josy Paul, chairman and national creative director, BBDO India.

Vij was previously with Vyas Giannetti Creative (VGC) as vice president and branch head of the agency's Delhi operations. Prior to VGC, he spent three and half years managing the Bharti Airtel business nationally in India. Vij has more than fourteen years of experience in the industry and has previously worked for Enterprise Nexus (now Bates Enterprise), Ogilvy & Mather, RK Swamy BBDO, Lowe and FCB Ulka (now Draft FCB+Ulka).

Confirming the move, Paul told Campaign India, “Yes, Ranjeev has moved on. He is keen on looking at the field of Interactive marketing and new media and exploring opportunities in that area. We are sad to let him go, as he has been instrumental in helping us set up systems and processes since he came on board and he was a key part of the integrated network that we have in the region. However, we have discussed that moving forward if there are opportunities where we can work together or if he chooses to ever come back, we would be happy to have him on board. Our plans for the future are much beyond that of an advertising agency and Interactive will play a big role, moving forward.”

The agency is currently looking for Vij's replacement.
