Coca-Cola '#LiftsTheFeeling' this summer with Deepika Padukone

Watch the ad film conceptualised by McCann Worldgroup India

Coca-Cola has rolled out its TVC for the summer. Conceptualised by McCann Worldgroup India, the film features Deepika Padukone.

It opens with Padukone entering a hotel, with media and fans surrounding her. She makes her way to an elevator, and just manages to catch it in time and enters it. Inside the elevator is a waiter, who is pleasantly surprised by the actor's entry. The elevator gets stuck soon after with the duo in it. With the fan also not working, the duo feel hot and Padukone takes off her jacket. The waiter has a solution though. From his trolley he gets two bottles of Coca Cola and offers one to Padukone. She takes off her headphones from the phone and puts on music and starts dancing to it with the waiter. The duo are rescued soon, and before Padukone exits the elevator, the waiter asks for a picture with her.

He gets out of the lift with a smile and continues his journey with the trolley. He stops to see the picture. The smile disappears as Padukone's face is hidden by the bottle of Coke. The film ends with the smile back on his face, as he presumably reminisces about his experience as a #LiftTheFeeling message appears.

Debabrata Mukherjee, VP - marketing, Coca-Cola India, said “Coca-Cola is a simple pleasure that creates memorable moments out of ordinary ones. We have added local flavourto our global elevator campaign and created what we believe is a highly engaging communication. While the countries and places may differ, the simple pleasure of enjoying a Coke remains universal. The ad is truly enjoyable due tocelebrity quotient of Deepika Padukone, upbeat music, great storytelling and a positive message that no matter what you do, you can always bond over Coca-Cola.”

Prasoon Joshi, chairman Asia Pacific, CEO and CCO - India, McCann, said, “The new Coca-Cola Elevator campaign captures a tale of togetherness between total strangers. The light-hearted film features Deepika Padukone as herself, where a fan bumps into his heart-throb in an elevator. Coca-Cola breaks the ice and makes the connection between the celebrity and the awe-struck fan special. The choice of music and dance make the film truly enjoyable.”

The film was published on 19 April 2017.
