Creativeland Asia expands down south

Campaign India Team, 21 August, 2008

Mumbai

Creativeland Asia is expanding into the south and is set to open two offices there. While Kochi should be operational by the end of September, a decision is still to be made on whether to open an office in Bangalore with a satellite office in Chennai or vice versa.

Speaking to Campaign India, Sajan Raj Kurup, chairman and chief creative officer, Creativeland Asia (pictured) confirmed that this was necessitated by new business that they were in the process of signing up at the moment. Sudheer Krishnan, who was earlier vice president, TBWA Kochi, has come on board as the head for their South operations. The agency is also setting up Creativeland Asia Lab in the Kochi office, which the agency claims is the first of its kind creative laboratory for ideas related to all aspects of communications. Recruitment for the Kochi office is in underway.

“Most businesses have an R&D unit, but unfortunately an industry such as advertising, which relies so heavily on quality of thinking and ideas does not have this concept. The CLA Lab is not going to be restricted to advertising communication alone, it will cover all aspects of communication including product design ideas,” explained Kurup.

With an advertising career spanning 21 years, Sudheer Krishnan has worked on accounts like Hindustan Lever (now Unilever), Harrisons Malayalam Ltd, Coats India, Tally, Acer,Birla 3M Ltd, LIC Housing Finance, Sapat Tea and BPL Mobile communications.
