Uber has taken to traditional media for the first time in India, with an outdoor and print campaign rolled out in the last week on May. The ads are currently running across Mumbai and Delhi, targeting commercial drivers as part of a recruitment drive.

Karun Arya, lead - communications, South Asia , Uber, said, "We'll be doing more of the traditional advertising in India. We are moving beyond digital. We've done some forms of traditional advertising in a few markets globally, but that's been on a smaller basis. This is the first market, (where) we'll be exploring traditional marketing across different media."
While this campaign has been done in-house, Arya informed that the technology-based service provider has just conducted a pitch process for its advertising agency. A decision is expected in a 'couple of weeks'.
