After an absence of four years, Bournvita Quiz Contest (BQC) will return on air on Sunday, 14 August, 2011. The show will be aired on Colors and will be continued to be hosted by Derek O’Brien.

Prior to re-launching the show, an online movement on Facebook populated by 1,60,000 fans in a span of four months prompted Cadbury India to bring back their show.

Commenting on the re-launch of the BQC, Narayan Sundararaman, director, Powdered Beverages, Gum and Candy, Cadbury India, said, “We are excited with the exceptional response received on Facebook to bring back BQC. BQC has a proud tradition of past winners becoming stalwarts in their respective fields and we are glad to introduce BQC on air once again, with Derek O’Brien.”

The format of the show has been realigned to make it a blend of entertainment and education.

For the first season, BQC offers fans a chance to feature on the show as part of the “main bhi quizmaster” segment. People are invited to post their videos on the YouTube channel. One winner per show will get a chance to be a guest quiz-master and ask participants one question on the show.

The show made its debut on Zee TV in 1994 and continued its run till 2000. It moved to Sony in 2001 and  then shifted to Pogo in 2007 which was the last season for the show.
