Manish Kalra moves from Amazon to Craftsvilla as chief business officer
Manish Kalra, director of integrated marketing at Amazon India, has been roped in by Craftsvilla as its chief business officer.
 
Kalra has been with Amazon India since early 2014, responsible for marketing and building brands like Amazon.in, Junglee.com and Kindle. He headed marketing for MakeMyTrip prior.
 
Craftsvilla, an online store for Indian ethnic products, said in a statement that Kalra would play key role in binding together key functions including marketing, product, supply, category management and merchandising.
 
Manoj Gupta, co-founder and CEO, Craftsvilla.com, said, "Manish brings extensive experience in e-commerce space including Amazon and Make my Trip, where he played active role in building consumer growth and scaling the businesses in these organisations using innovative and efficient marketing tools and building teams and processes from scratch."
 
Kalra added, "I am very excited to join Craftsvilla.com at this stage in their journey of bringing Indian ethnic products and handicrafts closer to the Indian consumer. We have a huge opportunity in building a world class product and enabling Indian sellers and small business."
 
The e-commerce company claims to have on board nearly 25,000 artisans and designers across the country.
In previous assignments, Kalra has worked with Dell and PepsiCo.
