First AAAI-Subhas Ghosal Memorial Lecture to feature newsman Shekhar Gupta
The Advertising Agencies Association of India (AAAI) has announced that veteran journalist Shekhar Gupta will speak on ‘Changing Role of Media in Today’s India’, at the first of the recently announced AAAI-Subhas Ghosal Memorial Lectures. The event will be hosted in Mumbai on 9 October 2015.

The AAAI-Subhas Ghosal Memorial Lecture series was announced at the AAAI Lifetime Achievement Award 2015 ceremony, where SV (Bobby) Sista was honoured. Late adlander Sibhas Ghosal was the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award. Prior to this, the Subhas Ghosal Foundation had organised memorial lectures, with speakers including Dr. Prannoy Roy, Javed Akhtar, Dr Gurcharan Das and Shyam Benegal.

Dr MG (Ambi) Parameswaran, president, AAAI, said, "We at AAAI are constantly examining how the association can play a more meaningful role in changing and shaping public opinion about advertising, media and marketing. The partnership with Subhas Ghosal Foundation gives us a great platform to invite thought leaders from various domains to share their perspectives on the changing discourse on media, advertising and society. Through this effort we will also remember one of the visionaries of Indian advertising."

Shekhar Gupta is currently chairperson of Mediascape, a start-up in Indian news media under development. He also hosts 'Walk the Talk' on NDTV 24x7 and is a former editor-in-chief of The Indian Express.
