Second set of BARC's TV audience data may be delayed

Follows I&B Ministry advisory on completion of registration process

Second set of BARC's TV audience data may be delayed

The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) has asked joint industry body BARC not to release its audience measurement data till its registration process, a requirement for organisations engaged in TV audience measurement, is completed.

BARC had released its first set of findings on 29 April, and as per its weekly schedule should release data for the week ending 1 May today.

Speaking with Campaign India, Partho Dasgupta, CEO, BARC India, said, “BARC will be releasing the data. I am not saying we will be releasing it today or not.”

He further said that BARC is discussing the matter with MIB and a call would be taken soon.

BARC had applied for its registration with the MIB in November 2014, informed its CEO.
