Ad-man Arvind Sharma turns digital entrepreneur; launches indiasarihouse.com
Arvind Sharma, former chairman and CEO, India sub-continent, Leo Burnett, has announced that he has launched his own e-commerce venture. Called, www.indiasarihouse.com, the website is now live.

On the venture, Sharma said, “Horizontal retail players such as Flipkart etc are now done as there are way too many. The future lies in specialist e-commerce sites. Saris is a 15 billion dollar category. Internet has a way of reducing most categories to one, two or three brands. So, it’s a massive opportunity and this has a huge potential. Saris fascinated me because they give a picture of Indian culture. I thought it’ll be valuable for all, if we can build a direct channel between weavers and consumers.”

Sharma has roped in Underdog Communications, the agency recently launched by Vikram Gaikwad and Vistasp Hodiwala to handle creative duties for the website. Resultrix will handle digital marketing.
