An internal mail circulated within Ogilvy & Mather announced NCD Abhijit Avasthi's exit, with his last day at the agency officially being 30 November. Avasthi is looking at a break lasting a 'couple of months' before he embarks on a new venture.
On his exit, Avasthi said, "It has been an emotionally enriching journey for me for as long as I have been a part of Ogilvy & Mather. But there are certain things I have in mind. I have certain dreams, passions that I need to pursue and while I'm still here, it is only fair that I give all my energy and time to Ogilvy and its clients. So in order for me to pursue my passions, I need to quit and take a break for a couple of months. For the next few months I'm going to put my plans in place and will share with everybody when they are finalised."
He added, "Even I'm not aware of the shape of the entity that I wish to create. I'm going to use all my learnings from advertising, my strength is communication, I have a few thoughts in mind and just need a break to finalise and crystallise them."
