Brandwealth Seminar 2013 to be hosted in six cities; Mumbai leg from 18 to 20 July

Several changes in three-day EDP series, including segment on experiential marketing

Brandwealth Seminar 2013 to be hosted in six cities; Mumbai leg from 18 to 20 July

Brandwealth Seminar, the executive development programme organised by Draftfcb Ulka’s Cogito Consulting, will be hosted in six cities this year, growing from four last year.

Mumbai will play host to the first in the series from 18 to 20 July 2013, followed by the Bengaluru edition from August 22 to 24. Subsequently, the seminar will also be hosted in Delhi (September), Chennai (October), Kolkata (November) and Ahmedabad (December).

On growth of the property over the years, MG Parameswaran, executive director and CEO - Mumbai Group, Draftfcb-Ulka, said, “When our group HR head Savita Mathai and Cogito Consulting chief Kinjal Medh met to conceptualise BrandWealth Seminar four years ago, it was just a way of giving back to the industry that has helped Ulka Advertising grow and also celebrate the 50th birthday of the founder agency. We soon realised that we could find takers for what we offered in Delhi and Bangalore. So instead of one seminar in 2011, we ended up with three. Last year, we explored one more city and had four Seminars, in Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai. This year, plans are on to take BrandWealth to two more cities.”

“We are grateful to our partners WE School Mumbai / Bangalore and MMA, Chennai. A total of over 300 executives from diverse industries have benefited from the Seminars. Draftffcb’s Cogito Consulting orchestrates the Seminar and they diligently seek feedback after each session. Based on the feedback received every year we do a review and make modifications. We have been getting a 4.4/5 rating on an average, so we seem to be doing something right,” he added.

On the format, Parameswaran explained that each Seminar starts with the fundamentals of branding, moves to understanding consumers, to advertising strategy, to advertising creative, to media fundamentals, to digital media / execution to market analytics.

On the changes introduced this year, he said, “We have added several new elements this year including a large section on experiential marketing."

The stated objective is to recreate a strategic brand management program in three days. He added, "As compared to other seminars, here each of the faculty members is a hands-on practitioner of the art form. Response has been great and as in the last two years we have a nice cross section of executives from diverse industries including consumer products, services, financial services, pharmaceuticals etc. who have enrolled for the Mumbai Seminar.”

The Mumbai edition will be held at Welingkar Institute's WE School, Matunga, while the Bengaluru edition is scheduled at Welingkar Institute's WE School, Electronics City, Hosur Road. Venue and dates for the other editions have not been announced yet.
