India@Cannes 2012: Mudra strikes Gold for Incredible India; LB, O&M, BBDO among metals

Besides a Gold Design Lion, Mudra's entry 'The Hinglish Project' also bagged a Bronze for Typography. Leo Burnett won a Silver in Press Lions, and Bronze in Radio. Ogilvy & Mather won two Bronze Press Lions and BBDO India one, on day three.

India@Cannes 2012: Mudra strikes Gold for Incredible India; LB, O&M, BBDO among metals

India's second Gold at the 59th International Festival of Creativity in Cannes came in the Design Lions category, courtesy DDB Mudra Group's 'The Hinglish Project' for Incredible India. The agency also picked up a Bronze in the category.

Leo Burnett India won a Silver in the Press Lions competition, besides picking up India's lone metal in the Radio Lions category - a Bronze.

Ogilvy & Mather India picked up two Bronze metals in the Press Lions, while BBDO India bagged a Bronze.  

Design Lions

DDB Mudra Group's 'The Hinglish Project' for the Ministry of Tourism, Government of India(Incredible India) brought home the second Gold in the Design Lions category from Cannes 2012. Besides winning a Gold in the 'Consumer Services' sub-category, the entry also bagged Bronze for 'Design Typography'.

The Grand Prix in this category went to 'The Solar Annual Report 2011' entered by Serviceplan Munich for Austria Solar in the 'Medium Business - regional or national organisations' sub-category.

Press Lions

Leo Burnett India bagged a Silver Lion for  ‘Socks’ and ‘Fish’ entered for Bajaj Electricals in the 'Home Appliances & Furnishings' sub-category.

Ogilvy & Mather's work for Perfetti Van Melle (Mentos) won the agency a Bronze. The entries Barbed Wire’, ‘Nails’ and ‘Electric Shock’ won a Bronze Lion as a campaign in the 'Sweet Foods & Snacks' sub-category. Meanwhile, entries ‘Refrigerator’, ‘Drawers’ and ‘Sofa’ for Mattel Toys’ HotWheels won a Bronze Lion as a campaign in the 'Entertainment & Leisure' sub-category.

The entries AK-47’ and ‘Nuclear Reactor’ for White Collar Hippies by BBDO India in the ' Travel, Transport & Tourism' sub-category won the third Bronze Lions for India in Press Lions this year.

Fabrica Treviso won the Grand Prix in the category for their campaign entry 'Unhate (Palestine and Israel), (USA and Venezuela), and (Germany and France)' entered for United Colors of Benetton in the 'Public Awareness Messages' sub-category.

Radio Lions
 
Leo Burnett India won its solitary metal in the Radio Lions category, a Bronze Lion in the 'Retail Stores' sub-category for the entry 'Punishment' for Strand Book Stall.

Cyber Lions
 
No Indian entries made it to the shortlist in this category. However, there were two Grand Prix winners in Cyber Lions this year. R/GA New York's entry 'Nike+Fuelband' for Nike in the 'Other Digital Channels' sub-category and Volontaire Stockholm's entry 'Curators of Sweden' for Swedish Institute in the ' Viral Marketing' sub-category won the top honours.
