Dainik Bhaskar launches contest 'Junior Editor 2011'

The Dainik Bhaskar Group has launched a young-reader engagement programme called 'Junior Editor 2011' under its Bhaskar Champs Club initiative. It's said to be the "largest manual newspaper making competition across the nation”, open to students from class 1st to 12th.

The Bhaskar Champs Club (BCC) was started in 2010 with the aim of fostering knowledge, practical wisdom and creative skills in students. Two other recently concluded activities are 'Bhaskar Champs Scrapbook' and 'Junior Picasso'.

Vinay Maheshwari, vice president, Corporate SMD, Dainik Bhaskar Group, said, “We intend to organise such complementing interactions and programs. We see ourselves as a partner-in-excellence development with willing schools, contributing towards 360 degree development of the students. In the last one year, 'Bhaskar Champs Club' has come a long way in generating intellectual, innovative and perceptual built-up reader activities. Next from the Club, ‘Junior Editor- 2011’ is a custom style manual newspaper making contest for the members of Bhaskar Champs Club."

Kalpesh Yagnik, national editor, DB Group, added, "We are overwhelmed with the response to the activities organised by the Bhaskar Club. We now present a chance for students to develop and demonstrate their creative talent in 'Junior Editor – 2011' along with an opportunity to explore their intellectual side too. We are sure the contest will help the students to enhance their hidden talents."
