Of the Indian agencies, McCann Erickson picked up the only Gold. It was in the category Design/Product/Brand Point-of-Sale for 'The Crying Carpet' for the NGO Bachpan Bachao Andolan (Save the Childhood Movement).
Leo Burnett India picked up two Silvers: one in the category Design/Product/Brand for Whisper's 'Wrapper', and another for Print/Technique (Copywriting-English) for the ad 'Dear Prime Minister' for Awareness for Bhopal Victims. The agency was a Finalist in the category Print/Campaign for its campaign for Tide Detergents ('Egg', 'Ketchup', 'Coffee', 'Ink').
The other agency that won a Silver was Ogilvy & Mather India in the category Television/Cinema/Online Film/Campaign for Ring The Bell Against Domestic Violence ('Bank Clerk', 'Software Engineer', 'Bus Driver').
Creativeland Asia, Rediffusion YR and Bates 141 won Bronzes. Creativeland Asia won in the category Design/Specialism Campaign for Medimix Handmade Soap ('Herbs', 'Machinery', 'What Man Dirties'). Rediffusion YR picked up its metal for Package Design in Beverages-Non-Alcoholic for Rasna. Bates 141 received the Bronze in Print/Campaign for its illustration campaign for Staedtler Pens ('Man on the Moon', 'Bell Calling', 'Conquering Mt Everest').
The Network of the Year was Y&R, Agency of the Year was RKCR/Y&R, London, and Production Company of the Year was MJZ.
